I think that the a key for the recovery from ms hinges on this one thing discovered by Roy Laver Swank in his studies on ms and the resulting low fat diet which in now adopt to a large extent. The key finding of the studies is that red blood cells that normally repel each other become sticky after consuming a fatty meal and cause congestion in ones blood flow in the brain.

As of writing this I’m aware of the criticism directed towards the Swank study and I have two comments about the criticism:

  1. double blinded studies were not invented at the time of the study, so how can you complain that this method was not employed?
    1. One might venture to say that double-blind drug trials are a science fraud.
  2. how does one create a study where the subjects don’t know that they are consuming a low fat diet?

To my knowledge Mcdougall is coming up with a study – don’t know how – that tries to fulfil the current medical study criteria.

As it stands I try to follow the following rules in my diet

    • I do not consume
      • Avoid all dairy products because they are high in saturated fat and there is a suspicion that if milk molecules are leaked from ones gut into the blood stream the proteins from milk might end up breaking through the blood brain barrier where T or B cells try to remove them. This is a good thing and there by design, but the something called molecular mimicry kicks in and the cells designed to help us end up destroying our myelin. This is a theory at-least and I’m not willing to chance it been true.
        • Skimmed milk will not do either.
      • Get rid of all meat products high in saturated fats. This for me has resulted in a diet consisting of some lean chicken and tons of seafood. No other meat is consumed.
      • Flee from all processed food.
        • I consider white rice as processed.
        • Ready made dinners are not considered as food, but as poison to be avoided at all cost!
      • I try to the best of my ability to avoid products with gluten in them because gluten is linked to leaky gut which is likely to play a part in the development of ms.
    • I consume to my hearts content (organic if possible)
    • I consume in moderation
